In the fast moving world that we live in these days, there is always a push to accelerate the production of a new product to get it to market.

With a physical prototype you can answer some important questions on the product and see whether or not it will be fit for purpose. It also means you can test the product with an inexpensive tool before committing to a longer lasting, hard wearing, steel tool.

There are companies out there that specialise in just making prototype tooling and are able to produce a tool in as little as 10 days. This is due to using a much softer material for the tool which is much easier for them to work with, as well as being a lot less complicated as they generally only need to last for up to 1000 shots.

When it comes to making a production tool, depending on the size and how complicated it is, it generally will take at least 6 weeks to produce.
