Plastic Supplies Dudley Ltd is inviting suitably qualified machinery suppliers,
To submit a tender for the supply and installation of two new servo-hydraulic injection moulding machines, together with the replacement of our existing fixed-speed air compressor.
1. Injection Moulding Machines
We are looking to replace two of our existing injection moulding machines with new, modern servo-hydraulic machines.

We require:

Machine 1

  • Clamping force: 50-100 tonnes.
  • To replace our existing 55-tonne injection moulding machine.

Machine 2

  • Clamping force: 150-200 tonnes.
  • To replace our existing 180-tonne injection moulding machine.

Machine Requirements
Both machines should be suitable for general-purpose injection moulding applications and must include the following:

  • Servo-hydraulic drive system for improved energy efficiency and controllability.
  • Bi-metallic screw and barrel, suitable for processing abrasive and glass-filled materials
  • Euromap 67 robot interface, allowing a robot to be installed at a later date.
  • Suitable control system with a modern, user-friendly operator interface.
  • Reliable and robust construction suitable for continuous industrial production.
  • Energy-efficient operation.
  • Appropriate guarding and safety systems in accordance with current UK requirements.
  • Machine documentation, manuals and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
  • Installation, commissioning and operator training.

Suppliers are invited to recommend the most appropriate machine specification within the required tonnage ranges, taking into consideration our existing production requirements and future expansion.

2. Air Compressor
We are also looking to replace our existing fixed-speed air compressor with a new:

  • 22 kW variable speed compressor.
  • Suitable for continuous industrial use.
  • Variable speed drive for improved energy efficiency.
  • Suitable capacity and pressure for our injection moulding facility.
  • Complete with all necessary controls and safety equipment.
  • Installation and commissioning included.

Suppliers should provide details of the proposed compressor’s air delivery (FAD), operating pressure, energy consumption and expected energy savings compared with a conventional fixed-speed compressor.

3. Tender Submission
We would ask suppliers to provide a detailed quotation covering:

  • Recommended machine make and model.
  • Full machine specifications.
  • Clamping force and injection unit specifications.
  • Screw diameter and L/D ratio.
  • Bi-metallic screw and barrel specification.
  • Maximum shot weight.
  • Euromap 67 interface specification.
  • Robot compatibility.
  • Servo-hydraulic system details.
  • Energy consumption information.
  • Warranty terms.
  • Delivery timescales.
  • Installation and commissioning costs.
  • Operator training.
  • Removal/disposal or part-exchange options for existing equipment.
  • Ongoing service and maintenance support.
  • Availability of spare parts.
  • Recommended preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Compressor specification and expected energy savings.
  • Any additional costs or requirements.

Where possible, please provide separate pricing for the two injection moulding machines and the compressor, along with any available package pricing.

4. Site Requirements
Suppliers should allow for a site visit prior to final quotation, where required, to assess existing machinery, services, electrical requirements, compressed-air requirements, access and installation considerations.

The successful supplier will be expected to coordinate the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of the equipment with our team to minimise disruption to production.

5. Future-Proofing
As part of our investment programme, we are particularly interested in equipment that provides improved energy efficiency, reliability, production control and future automation capability.

The inclusion of the Euromap 67 interface is therefore an important requirement, as we intend to retain the option of installing robots on the machines at a later date.

We welcome proposals that offer additional features or technologies that suppliers believe would provide measurable benefits to our operation, provided these are clearly identified and costed separately.
